January Favourites 2018

I like Winter. I would even go as far as to say I love it. But OHMYGOD did January drag. This month felt so long and I feel like we should be half way through Spring by now.

That being said, I had a great month. The best month I've had in ages, in fact. I largely put this down to actually having time to have a social life, even if by that I mean "we sit in Wetherspoons after training" most of the time.

One social event that happened was going round to a friends house to watch the Royal Rumble live. This year the first ever Women's Royal Rumble match was held and to see the women of WWE continue to start competing in the type of matches specifically reserved for men in the past is awesome. There's a couple of things I would have changed about the match mind. First of all,  I would never have had Kelly Kelly in it. She was and still is a rubbish wrestler and, to me at least, she represents everything that was wrong with the Diva's division at the time when she was on the roster. Secondly, I wouldn't have had Ronda Rousey come out afterwards. As exciting as it is to see her in WWE, it kinda took away from Asuka's moment as the inaugural Women's rumble winner. Having said that I have read that Rousey is away filming a movie or something up until mid February, so maybe it was done because of her availability.

This month also saw the premiere of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 3. I adore RPDR so much to the point that it is now probably my favourite TV show. I was surprised to see BeBe Zahara Benet revealed as the tenth queen with her being the original Drag Race winner, but she was brilliant on this episode and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season.

I didn't treat myself all that much this month when it comes to material things, but I couldn't resist this jumper from H&M when I saw it on the mannequin in the window. I've been trying to come up with more outfit ideas for when I'm working wrestling shows and this is the exact level of extra that I've been looking for. It's also super comfy and super warm, but the chains can be a bit of a pain in the backside so it's definitely a show/going out top for me. For the RWA show I teamed it with an embellished faux leather skirt that I bought from River Island last year and some glittery silver thigh high boots from Primark.
